James Charles is facing consequences from YouTube after he previously admitted that he sent flirtatious messages to underage boys, who he thought were over 18 at the time.
The 21-year-old YouTube star and beauty mogul has been the subject of numerous allegations over the past several weeks and he’s claiming some are false, even though he admitted some were real.

YouTube is now taking action.
A spokesperson confirmed to People that they “temporarily removed Charles from the YouTube Partner Program.” The brand also cited their creator responsibility policy. The relevant line from the policy is as follows: “If we see that a creator’s on- and/or off-platform behavior harms our users, community, employees or ecosystem, we may take action to protect the community.” The policy adds “severe violations that cause widespread harm to the community may have repercussions beyond standard enforcement actions.”
It’s unclear how long James‘ account will be demonetized. He has 25.5 million subscribers.
